What's keeping Victor up?

So it's been a while since I've posted on my blog. I apologize to my fellow fans.

I've been working on other projects that don't necessarily deal with marketing. However, it reinforces something I've always been taught:

Marketers are almost required to read and know their industry very well. We're taught to understand multiple streams of income. MSI, MSI, MSI!!!!! But then we fall into the trap of not fully understanding what that means. If I work at a job, I have ONE stream of income. If I work at two jobs, I have two streams of income. But like all good MSI and wealth books, I'm trading in my time for money.

What we learn is that the less hours we put in to other streams of income, like a business or online/network marketing, the more we get paid. That's after our networking, or online marketing has come to fruitation. That's when our marketing techniques start paying off, and we start working less. That's the wealthy way of making money. That's opulence. And that's not just an American's right to do - I believe wholeheartedly that opulence is a requirement of an American.

But one pitfall of all marketers, networkers, wealth-seekers, etc., is that we sometimes don't look at other opportunities that make us rich. Some have shunned all other aspects of wealth-building in the hopes of getting rich in what they're currently doing.

I, for one, fell into this trap myself. I realized I should follow my own advice. This is what I'm talking about:

When you're a marketer, and ONLY a marketer, you have ONE stream of income. That's gonna hurt if you're just starting. Bills pile up more than you can pay them off. If you're working and marketing at the same time, then yes, that's TWO streams of income. But one is trading time for money. What do you do???

Keep your eyes and ears open. When someone says, "Do what I do, I got rich off of this. But don't do anything else, because I didn't get rich off that," doesn't mean you should never look at other opportunites. I'm NOT talking about switching to another MLM company. I'm NOT talking about switching to another JOB! That's the last thing I'm telling anyone to do.

What I'm talking about is that there are other opportunities that are at your feet, even if you have ZERO dollars in your account, and your credit cards are maxed out. You can still make it, in ANY opportunity.

I read ONE MINUTE MILLIONAIRE by Robert Allen and Mark Victor Hansen a long time ago. An old friend introduced me to it. I remembered throughout the book that there were many ways to get rich.

Of which there was business. But of course, there was more than just business. There's understanding and playing the stock market (I've done that), infopreneur (making a book), and real estate.

So why are all of you stuck on one? I've done three out of the four. I was planning to write a book, so that makes it almost four of the four ways you can reach filthy rich status.

I've learned to do options-trading on the stock market. I went to a seminar for it. It was pure AWESOME. The instructor there was a millionaire, teaching others to be a millionaire, in options-trading.

I've learned to do network marketing. I was trained by people who weren't millionaires yet, but are well on their way.

I've learned to do online marketing. My mentors in this category figured out how to make $100,000 in a month, 3 times more than what an average salary worker makes in a year. They're millionaires several times over.

I've learned to do real estate. I also went to a seminar for it. That was also pure AWESOME. That was also taught by millionaire students of the original author of Multiple Streams of Income, Robert Allen. The instructer there was also a millionaire, teaching others to be a millionaire, in real estate.

So why are none of you looking at stock trading? Did someone tell you it was risky? Did you read the newspapers saying that the stock market was crashing? Did your parents lose thousands of dollars on the market lately? Do you have no money to invest? Is that why you're not trading?

Then unfortunately, my friends, you know absolutely NOTHING about stock trading.

What happens when you don't know how to do something that makes people filthy rich? LEARN.

Why are some of you not doing a business? Did someone tell you that most people fail? Did you read some article on the internet that network marketing was a scam? Did you see your local mall close down half its stores because of the economy? Is no one buying any products because of the recession? Did your parents lose thousands of dollars on a network marketing company/business before? Do you have no money to invest in a network marketing business/traditional business? Is that why you're not in business for yourself?

Then unfortunately, my friends, you know absolutely NOTHING about business.

Why are some of you not doing real estate? Did someone tell you that most people fail? Did you read the newspapers saying that now is the worst time to be in real estate? Did your parents foreclose their house lately? Do you think the economy is making it more difficult for you to ever be in real estate? Do you think nobody is buying houses right now? Did your parents lose thousands of dollars on real estate because of the economy? Do you have no money to invest in real estate? Is that why you're not doing real estate?

Then unfortunately, my friends, you know absolutely NOTHING about real estate.

In fact, some of you have been lied to so bad, that I'm amazed you're still standing.

70% of all new millionaires today, have made their millions from REAL ESTATE.

Back when Andrew Carnegie (the guy that said, "I'd rather have 1% of 100 people's efforts, than 100% of my own"), the number was around 90%, said by Mr. Carnegie himself.

The rest did it through STOCKS.

The last percentage made it through BUSINESS.

Nowhere does it say through a JOB.

One last thing I need to mention, and need for you, my readers, to understand:

I read a lot of books and articles on how to be wealthy, millionaire, filthy rich, etc. Every one of those sources said that in order to be wealthy, one must own a business.

This is what you have to understand in those words: owning a business.

Being a network marketer, is a business. We have business centers. That's a business. But did you also know that stock trading is a business also? How about real estate investing? That's a business also! When you write a book, you're also a business.

All of those sources of income are businesses. It's just the wording that gets everyone.

So before you count out any other means of making money and being wealthy, understand what it is. Listen to the millionaires that have made it in their respective fields. I'm not saying deal drugs. But everything legal under this wealth umbrella is good as gold. You just need the right sources of information before trekking on that journey.

So to all my readers, be smart in what you do. Be diligent in your research. But also know what you're saying before you say it.

'Till next time, good luck and godspeed.

As you all know, I've been following Mike Dillard, millionaire in the industry, and hands down one of the best online marketing mentors you could find this side of the universe.

When I first saw Magnetic Sponsoring by Mike Dillard, I thought it was another one of those books that were gonna be a waste of my money. It took me about 5 times before I decided to buy his short mini-book. But all the while, I was on his mailing list. This is the important part.

His book was awesome, to say the least. Definitely a better, more effective, efficient way of running a network marketing business. However, alot of it was mentality training, which is very important in running any business.

Which is why everyone should do one thing for themselves and their business: SIGN UP FOR MIKE DILLARD'S MAILING LIST!!!!!

I've learned soo much from his FREE emails, it's almost completely changed my world about marketing, about abundance mentality, about my business, and about me, all for FREE.

If you're broke, don't know what to do with your business, or are just plain stuck, GET ON HIS MAILING LIST!!!

It's free, it's the best thing you can do for yourself if you even care a bit about how your business or life is running.

For those not in network marketing or online marketing in general, I suggest you sign up too.

If you were looking for a way out the rat race, learn from Mike Dillard, who took 6 years trying to figure out how to run a network marketing business, going nowhere, going broke, pawning his dvd collection for food money - - - - to being able to make over $100,000 in a single month.

He's not just another guru. I've seen alot of "gurus" online, and no one stacks up to Mike. As you know, I, Victor, am a big skeptic when it comes to gurus, but he's got my stamp of approval.

Get on his mailing list, even if you don't buy any of his products.

Go to this website, enter your name and email and phone number. Make up a name and phone number if you want to remain anonymous. After that, just wait for the emails to come.

You also have access to his FREE 7-day videos giving you a hint of what Magnetic Sponsoring is, what his experience with network marketing is, and how you should run a successful marketing business.

If you don't like what you see or hear, you can flame me on my own blog. I guarantee you won't.

Good luck and Godspeed.
So today is the day. I went to vote for the first time. Not exactly the same thrill as watching a Matrix movie, but a different kind of thrill.

4 years ago, when it was my first chance to vote, I skipped out on it. I decided not to vote, and so President Bush was elected for his second term. I wanted to vote for Kerry. It was a sad day for me. Nearly a year later, when Iraq was starting to heat up, I got a letter telling me to report back to the U.S. Army, "in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom."

Because I didn't vote for Kerry, President Bush sent me to Iraq.

Had I voted for Kerry, would things have changed? Would Bush still be president? Would I have been sent to Iraq? Who knows? But the point is, I decided to let someone else decide my fate. For that, I paid the ultimate price of silence. I was sent to Iraq for almost 15 months. I let someone else determine my life.

This year was different. I was hell-bent on voting. Never again would I let someone else send me to Iraq without me saying something about it.

My thrill was in knowing that this Democracy allows us to choose our own fate, whether for better or worse, but that it was my choice. So if there's something wrong in the governmental midst, I at least voted and had my say.

So for all you citizens who don't vote, don't let your future be decided by anyone else but you. I let that happen, and I got sent to Iraq.

Moral of the story? Don't get sent to Iraq!

UPDATES!!!

Currently I'm working on building another squidoo lens on free online marketing, where all the info on this blog, and other stuff floating around in my head, will be put. As soon as it's done, I'll let you guys know!

I've also changed my template on my blog. The previous template with all that orange was cool for halloween, but was an eyesore. Lemme know if you guys like this, or have suggestions for anything better. 'Till then, good luck, and godspeed!

Squidoo, Myspace, Craigslist, and Backpage updates

As you all may know, I've been using free methods to present my network marketing products to the world, or at least the online world. Using Squidoo as the primary base for my main web page to all the information about the company, I used Craigslist, Backpage, and Myspace to bring customers to my main landing page @ usana.com.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm proud of myself for not spending myself into a hole doing any of this. It's all for free. COOL! As of today, my squidoo page is ranked #336 in the health section, #5899 overall.

That's insanely well considering I put up the page less than a couple weeks ago, and spent about 3 days making the page. Considering there are about 500,000 pages on squidoo.com, I'm doing very well for myself. I even got a comment from a fellow rep on how well my page was. COOL!

So far, this where most of my clicks have been coming from:

Myspace bulletin - 18 clicks.
Myspace profile - 13
squidoo.com searches - 5
craigslist - 3
my blog (thanx guys!) - 2
backpage - 1
others - 6

So what does this mean if you're in network marketing and are trying to get people to see your business or products? Using the free methods that I've been doing, you can see a steady stream of clicks to your webpages, blogs, etc. where you present your business or products.

They like what they see, they buy. If not, put up better information, or reach to a wider audience using more methods. As with all this, I didn't hold one single presentation or tabletalk. That's just soo much easier for me now.

If you wanna know how to do all this, step by step, or if you need help in a certain aspect, just email me.

Backpage

Another Day, another idea. So I'm reading more into Building On A Budget, and I read of another place to post my supplement ad. Go to backpage.com.

It's a less known version of craigslist, with less traffic, but still a nice directory to place ads.

I basically rehashed my craigslist ad onto the backpage ad. Check it out here!

Hopefully that helps you.

Does Craigslist work?

So I'm reading Building on a Budget by Mike Dillard, and one of his pieces of advice is to use craigslist to show more people about either my company's products or business opportunity.

As of right now, I'm focusing more on building a large customer base before really delving into the business opportunity. It's not the right or wrong answer, just my personal preference. I wanted to prove to myself that I can sell the products without selling the opportunity.

So back to the subject at hand. I've just made a craigslist post using the first couple paragraphs of my squidoo page, and linking it to the squidoo page.

Check out my craigslist post here, if it's not already expired. I'll keep reposting after deletion.

Well, this is the first time I'm using Craigslist.org to present a product. I mean, I've used craigslist before to buy and sell personal stuff online. But for selling a company's product, I'm crossing my fingers. Let's hope it works, even to get a couple hits on the squidoo page. Branching myself out, ya know.

Let's hope this works. I'll keep everyone posted!

If you haven't looked at Building on a Budget yet, click here.

And for my craigslist post, click here.

Hope this might help you on your way to success!

Another Way of Doing Things

A little while back, I was in a Network Marketing team that was doing the old-school way of prospecting for the company we were distributing for. At that time, I didn't know there was any other way of network marketing, so I did it for as long as I could.

It took ALOT of time in my life. From the moment I opened my eyes, to when I closed them, there would be nothing else that I would do. A couple months down the line, I was getting tired of prospecting my warm market, mainly because my warm market was drying up.

Friends were alienating me. My room and house was a mess. I was going into debt maintaining myself while I worked my business. There had to be an easier way, I thought.

A couple months into the business, I stumbled upon a way to run the business using mainly the internet. I knew this had to be the new wave of Network Marketing, but oddly enough, my NM team wasn't doing such things. I mean, basic things like adding friends on Myspace and Facebook, and pitching the company to them. It wasn't as effective as I liked, and my attempts at it weren't as promising.

I started to research how people were marketing and prospecting online. I was liking it, ALOT!

First off, I didn't need to worry about my limited warm market list. My hot market was dead. But the cold market, the millions of people online searching for a way out the rat race, was where I could find an unlimited amount of people to prospect.

That's when I found out about Ann Sieg and Mike Dillard, both heroes of the online network marketing movement, also known as attraction marketing.

Ann Sieg opened up my eyes to the truths of Network Marketing, mainly in her 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing.

If you want to see what I saw, then click here. But I WARN YOU. If you're still doing the old-school way of NM, then you're either gonna LOVE it, or HATE it. I leave that opinion up to you.

Mike Dillard showed me the way of online marketing, BIG TIME. His advice showed me another way of doing things, a way that made more sense to me.

I'm not saying this is the know-all end-all to network marketing, but for those a bit frustrated with cold calling, chasing leads, calling up old friends, doing tabletalks at random houses, driving all around town, going to constant meetings and presentations, making LITTLE OR NO MONEY, having nothing to show for your efforts, then you owe it to yourself to at least take a look at what they have to offer. I did.

I'm not a millionaire by no means, but I'm much happier doing things the way I'm doing now than I was before. I'm not saying you'll feel the same as me. I'm entitled to my own opinion as much as you are entitled to yours.

But like I said, you owe it to yourself - unless of course, you're retired or are making a substational amount of money in your own methods. Then this might help you make more, or at least easier than how you were doing things previously. Your choice.

If you haven't checked them out yet, here are the links again:

Squidoo is crazy!

So I'm up at 3:30 AM on a sunday morning, and decided to play around on the 'net until my eyes got tired again to go to sleep. So i'm going down my usual bookmarks: Yahoo! mail, USANA.com, Twitter.com, Blogger.com, betternetworker.com, myspace.com, and then my squidoo.com page.

The last page was the shocker. I recently put up lens on squidoo about my MLM company's products. it highlighted the need for supplements, a little about the company, and where and how to buy. Threw in some youtube vids, a billion or so links, and a picture to accompany every module. cool stuff. but as good as it was, i couldn't break the #1000 lensrank, mainly because no one was looking at it, regardless of how high it ranks alone on the squidoo search. so i put it up on a myspace bulletin for some traffic, and submitted the page to over half-a-dozen squidoo directories, and SHAZAM... traffic was coming in. I nearly crapped my pants over how high my lens was ranking! it was now in the high 3 digits (smaller numbers means better).

Now of course, most of my friends on myspace.com are already in the same MLM i'm in, so i won't be getting any product buys from them. however, a little traffic to your site never hurt.

So i'm starting to get a hold of this "magnetic" ability to send people to your sites.

It also brought my lensrank to break past 1,000, and as of this moment, my lensrank is #753. Congrats to me, right? =)

day job killer

So I'm lurking around on the net, updating myself on twitter, and i come across a link for Day Job Killer by Chris McNeeney. The sales letter was amazing, very reminiscent of what I read for magnetic sponsoring by Mike Dillard. Interesting stuff. Talks alot about internet marketing. Because I'm running a little low on funds right now, I took an extra minute to see what the rest of the marketing world says about it.

Half were affiliate links. boo.

A quarter were articles saying how it's a scam. Not exactly what I was looking for. I'm not too tolerant of the word scam anymore.

The last quarter, the cream of the crop, were from people actually implementing it. Some were mixed. Some said it worked for them. some said it didn't. but since its debut in october 2007, there hasn't been much word on the net about it, especially considering it's october 2008 now.

Damn.

1 day trip to L.A.

I just got to L.A. with Dad to drop off sister's stuff she left behind at the house in San Jose. Got there in a record 4 hours. Lotsa fun, especially when i'm queasy during long road trips. Went to a chinese joint for lunch before dad bounced to Santa Ana to see friends. Afterwards, took a semi-long nap only to wake up to bed head and puffy eyes. Me and sis walked to a ramen spot for probably the best ramen i've ever tasted. Now back at sister's apartment staring at the walls because we have no car. =(
